If you remember the old Utica Club commercials, you probably remember Schultz and Dooley — those talking beer steins who became local advertising legends.
But this 1961 commercial is a little different. Schultz is here. Dooley isn’t.
Schultz and Dooley had made their TV debut just a couple of years earlier, in 1959, and became so popular that a whole cast of other characters eventually joined them.
The famous talking steins were created for Utica Club by legendary puppeteer Bil Baird, with Jonathan Winters providing the voices- but we’re not sure he did the voices in all the commercials, does anybody know?
