I (Lance Whitney) went to middle school in Sidney, New York, in the 1970s/1980s, and we played dodgeball during lunch. Not just gym class — lunch every day.

Sharry went to school in Camden and remembers playing dodgeball during lunch, too. We’ve heard the same from people who grew up in other Central New York schools, so now we’re curious how common it really was.
