Here’s a great piece of Utica history from 1974.

This old footage shows the Utica Fire Department Centennial Parade, held as the department marked 100 years. There are plenty of fire trucks, apparatus and parade scenes — but just as much fun is looking at the streets, buildings and people along the route.

The footage comes courtesy of the Utica Fire Department Historical Society, which gave us permission to share it. We’re always glad when films like this survive and can be seen again instead of sitting forgotten on a shelf.

Take a look and see what — or who — you recognize from Utica in 1974.
